Relax

This is the glorious view from the Sala in our piso. Very relaxing, the sky wasn't as blue the day I took it, guess you all will just have to come visit...(but bring a fly swatter with you c: )
So far so good on teaching classes. I've mainly been doing introduction presentations about myself - powerpoint and wordsearch. I get to be creative as I want which is something I really love. It doesn't put the proverbial walls around what I am able to do. Basically the teachers sign up for me to be in their classes and I go! Friday will be the first day that I teach some classes without just doing a presentation about myself. Mike has been really helpful with some ideas. I just want a LITTLE bit more direction from the teachers because I want to feel like I am making a difference here. I am FINALLY feeling a bit better, just a runny nose and a small cough, but I am confident I will be better this week.
I had private lessons with Vivi's kids last night, they are 15 and 16 years old, so their english is at a higher level. We just basically had a conversation, and at one point I asked them what their favorite holiday was (meaning Christmas, Birthdays, Easter etc) and Laura said: Summer. Haha, I was a bit perplexed at first, but then realized they learn UK English, and "holiday" is more like vacation. So we all had a good laugh about that. Hahaha. It was a quick hour. I just feel like I need to be doing something more - maybe vocabulary words or something. I am going to bring Laura a People magazine next week for her to look at since she feels that her English reading isn't great - at least pop culture is something she can find interesting - and there are pictures.
I went and bought some sheets and a blanket at this store called Eroski - it is Wal-Mart - esque on the edge of town, so Bea was able to drive me there. I forgot my Amex card (my parents said it could be my birthday present), so I had to pay for it myself. No worries, I will buy Spanish Boots and a scarf for my birthday present instead :)

This next pictures is mainly for my Parents and anyone else who was worried about me cooking:

I made pasta with sauteed veggies (tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach) with spices and of course cheese. And some fresh bread of course. It was very good. We use a lot of olive oil here instead of butter! For dinner last night Mike, Karlyn and I shared some Alicia soup and we mixed in spinach, mushrooms, garlic and even some cream cheese. It was very good. There is a lot of experimenting with food here, which is kind of neat. for example, earlier I made eggs with spinach, leeks, spices, mushrooms, tomato, and Mike had some Avocado so I threw that in there too - all turned out well and it is SUPER cheap!

Until Next time,

Tori
